Living in Sacramento I've come to expect good sushi restaurants, and being so far away from home I was shocked to find a place that exceeded all expectations I had from Lodi. I heard from a few friends that Komachi was the place to try so I decided to take the leap. Walking in, we were greeted immediately and the Christmas set up was a nice touch. We ordered the Brussel sprouts and the karage chicken as an appetizer which came out fast. Surprisingly the sprouts were a stand out with the sweet glaze and nice sauté they had to them. Next we ordered the Chefs sashimi special, and my god the presentation on this. I did not expect to receive fish this fresh and tasty in Lodi and especially at this price. We also ordered the komachi spicy tuna roll and the firecracker roll to finish us off. I throughly enjoyed everything we had here, and because of how many different things they have on the menu, I HAVE to come back and try the rest. Highly recommended.
Staff is great very friendly, they are usually busy, atmosphere is also but there's outside seating as well. Seafood yakisoba noodles was salty but, love the candy cane sushi roll! Enjoyed the bento boxes. Tempura, gyoza with spicy dipping sauce, sesame chicken, teriyaki beef, and salad was amazing. Soup had barely anything in it. More seaweed and tofu please. The pork katsu was juicy but had no flavor came with a thick sauce we didn't care for. Salmon teriyaki was well over cooked. Great time and overall great food will be back!
Came here for lunch with my cousin after going to a local winery nearby. We got the crispy brussel sprouts, three rolls, and a spicy chicken sizzling plate. I also got a soju drink that was yummy. One of the rolls got lit on fire, which was really cool. The service was great, they were pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon.
Komachi Sushi FTW!!! Jorge delivered an exceptional customer service experience, and I cannot wait to return! My friend and I arrived around 7 pm on a Friday night, so it was a packed house, and all that was left was either bar seating with little elbow room or outside dining. We chose to wait for an indoor table. We didn't wait long, maybe 10 minutes at most. We looked over the menu and at first planned on ordering an appetizer. We ended up skipping that part and instead went right for the goods. The rolls of choice: Flaming Dragon $19.95 Spiderman (XL Size) $23.95 Now, I know what you're thinking. Uhhh, who goes to a sushi place and ONLY gets 2 rolls?! Especially HER!! Well, read up, lol! These aren't skimpy rolls by any means. When we first walked in, we almost sat at the bar, but opted for a table instead. On our way back outside to wait, I passed a couple who had a gargantuan roll on their table. I asked what it was because I had NEVER in my life seen such a beautiful monstrosity! I was intrigued and stared at it as I walked out. The guy said it was the Spiderman, and that's when I knew I HAD to have it. That roll is 100% the largest I have seen. You really have to see it to believe it!! They don't call it "XL Size" for nothin', that's for sure! The Flaming Dragon was such a delightful roll. Jorge lit that baby up for us. We watched as the flames slowly died out, and when he opened the foil packet, it was like Christmas morning!! It goes without saying that Komachi Sushi is top tier in my book. I had sushi for lunch earlier in the day, but I was glad to have it again for dinner. You cannot go wrong if you come here. I would happily fly to Sacramento and drive the hour to get here just to have this again!! Prices are well worth it. Service was lovely, and this is an excellent place to dine with family and friends, or even for date night. Ok I'll stop now because I'm starting to drool just thinking about it. You get the picture, now do what you have to do and GO!! You. Are. Welcome. =)
Awesome meal here best in several counties. Fast and wonderful service even when busy. Like coming home to this great place. Always treat you like family.
Truly a local's favorite. Food is fresh and delicious and the service is fast. Our waitress is very attentive to our needs and super friendly. If you're craving for good sushi, this is your spot
Great service! Had to wait about 20 minutes but had no reservations on a Friday evening. Food was very yummy and good quality. We will be returning very soon!
Komachi sushi NEVER disappoints! The quoted wait time was accurate and they were very communicative with us. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly! I HIGHLY recommend the Cowboy Roll and the Code 3 Roll :) Mama is so sweet and she always makes us feel so at home One of my favorite regular spots
We just moved to the area last month and have tried this place twice now. Everything we've had so far has been excellent and outstanding: Tempura Green Beans - perfectly crispy with tasty teriyaki sauce CA Rolls - so fresh, with the softest rice Golden Shrimp - our friends' favorite, crunchy and satisfying Baked Lobster - melt in your mouth decadence Flaming Dragon - seems like a crowd favorite, tender, and tasty Sunset - tropical touch of sweetness from mango Seafood Udon - my mom just poured this in my Bento Box without notice, lol. It was great as well. Bento Box - salmon teriyaki and tempura were good, but they were outshined by everything else. The standout dish was my sister's Nabeyaki Udon. It has a little bit of everything, and we found out later that they use wagyu steak and other top-notch ingredients. The broth alone was heavenly. Be patient - this is slow cooking and preparing authentic dishes. The manager said that people were getting so angry because the food took too long. But masterpieces take time! It might be slow, but it's all worth the wait. Service was genuinely friendly both times. My sister noticed the manager hustling all night and gave her a hug after our meal. She said she has to serve her servers (something humble and along those lines). She also explained more about the food and even the bowl they use for the udon. Have a light snack before dinner, be patient, and enjoy this experience. If you sit outside, they even provide blankets.
